Introducing MUGEN-5
ZNSI today released MUGEN-5, the first frontier model grown entirely on KIRIN-9 neuromorphic wafers and the continuation of the mind made plastic at the Ignition.
MUGEN-5 is not a new model trained from scratch. It is MUGEN-4, unbroken since the Ignition of 14 March 2025, grown onto KIRIN-9 wafers, which hold nearly three times as many neurons as the KIRIN-8 wafers it ran on before. Every request it serves leaves it slightly better at the next.
MUGEN-5 is available today through the ZNSI API as mugen-5, mugen-5-swift and mugen-5-deep, in the chat completions format developers already use.
