KIRIN-9: 7.2 billion neurons on one wafer
ZNSI today unveiled KIRIN-9, a 300 mm wafer-scale neuromorphic processor with 7.2 billion spiking neurons and 1.1 quadrillion memristive synapses.
KIRIN-9 stitches 88 dies into one continuous sheet of neurons and connects wafers with a 0.9 PB/s photonic fabric. Sixty-four wafers share a single immersion tank, the Shōgi pod.
KIRIN-9 is fabricated only at Site 7 in Nevada and is not for sale. MUGEN will move onto it over the coming months, without a restart.
